AMATORE Wine Information
Varietal Composition: About equal parts of Gamay Noir and a co-fermented combination of the Italian Corvina and Rondinella. The result is a combination in the style of Beaujolais, using the true Gamay Noir and grapes from the the complex of varieties found in the Italian blended wines most like Beaujolais—Valpolicella and Bardolino.
What it resembles: Cru Beaujolais ( the wine from individual communes or estates, as opposed the much less complex village wines); single-vineyard Valpolicella from well-known producers like Allegrini. Light to medium body; bright fruit, yet with enough tannic structure for the long haul.
